Little water features in the garden

Even the smallest garden can have a water feature.

An old basin or a half-wooden barrel is deep enough for a water lily and a few other aquatic plants.

A miniature pond is an excellent focal point for a terrace or a small courtyard. The plants must be constantly cut back, given their tendency to fill up available space. But will is well worth it: their vitality will bring you great satisfaction!

The best time of year for creating an aquatic garden is between spring and summer. The groups of plants that are best suited to small spaces are:

  • underwater plants
  • water lilies and the like
  • riverbank plants

Once you have set up your water feature it will require very little attention.
